22 is the very first birthday that means nothing at all. I can already drink, I'm able to vote, I've been out of my teens for 2 years, I can drive... It's all down hill from here.
And as my father so characteristically explained to me at my birthday dinner, "Hey, 30 is big. It's like a huge slap in the face to realize you'll never be 'in your twenties' ever again. And it's worse than 40, be cause by then you're already used to feeling old." Thanks Dad.
So anyhow, I'm enjoying the Snowpocolypse or Snowmaggedon... or what ever. Yay for blizzards, stay safe!

Happy birthday! Mine is tomorrow but I'm pretending I'm turning 22...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I think you can't rent a car if you go on a trip until you're 27 or 25 or something like that. So you still have that hurdle!
ReplyDelete@ both ^: lol! Thanks for the wishes : )
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Sondrae is right about the car thing. I think some companies even refuse to give liability insurance to people that young, too. I suppose there's always something!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Erica!
ReplyDeleteAnother Aquarius, yaayyyy! Creative souls we are! Hope you enjoyed your special day despite the snowmaggedon ;)
We're going through the same up here :(
Happy Birthday Erica. As I'm on the downhill slide of 42, I have to say there are still days I feel 18. And then, I realize I'm the mother of an 18yo. Ouch!! Only in the crusty-eyed moments before reality sets in can I fool myself. ; )

Nonsense! You turned 22 on 2-2! (and for me, this was posted 22 hours ago, so there--you are forever branded with 2s). I hope it was really fabulous!
